Severe Weather Delays Race

On Saturday August 2, 2008 Pit Boss Motorsports and driver Rodney Brooks prepare for Southern Sizzler 125. Temperatures around 100 degrees in the area and approximately 150 degrees on the track the team worked hard to make sure that the car ran smoothly for their driver to prevent overheating, as that was a problem at a past race when temperatures at the track were the same. During practice the car was on the pace, but struggled with brake bias due to too much rear break. That being a major issue at Dillion Motorspeedway because of the tight turn radiuses. During qualifying sprits were lifted when driver Rodney Brooks turn the fastest lap of the day and qualifying in at 15.

Rodney Gives It His All at Greenville Pickens

On Thursday July 3, 2008 Rodney prepared for the Fire Cracker 125 at Greenville Pickens Speedway in Greenville, South Carolina. The whole crew had worked hard on the car in past weeks, swapping engines, changing exhaust, and other minor adjustments and was hoping for a top ten finish at that night’s race. Having finished 23rd at Orange County due to engine troubles just weeks before, Rodney had high hopes for the car and finishing well and Greenville Pickens. While getting buckled into the car Rodney noticed that the throttle was being hung up. After looking car owner Jim Gallison noticed that the throttle was getting stuck on the air filter.

“Rodney prepares for Easter Bunny 150” 

On Saturday January, 28 2008, Rodney tested his Rolling Thunder Modified race car at Hickory Motor Speedway. The testing session was in preparation for his first career start in the Pro All Star Series, South. “I learned a lot as the day went on, I found a really good line, and feel really confident for the Easter Bunny 150” Rodney said. 
 

Rodney earned this great opportunity after a top five finish in the Mason Dixon Meltdown at the Concord Motor Speedway back in November. The twenty year old Maine native led the first forty five of fifty laps along with winning his heat race. It was then shortly after that race when Jim and Denise Gallison, owners of Auto Master (a mechanic shop based in Mooresville, NC) were at that race and noticed Rodney’s talent, shortly after they got in touch with Rodney, then met with him soon after that.                    Full Story
